Soufriere

Here is the reason I had lunch at The Beacon!

I visited Soufriere on a beautiful Friday afternoon to spend the day with one of my close friends. I took a bus from Castries to Soufriere and I slept throughout the bus ride. I needed to catch up on some much needed sleep! After about an hour I had arrived at my destination!

Soufriere is beautiful in every single way! I got off the bus at the bus terminal and took a walk around the Soufriere market. A few vendors were selling their produce but the market was relatively quiet.

It was a cool and mostly cloudy day so I eagerly walked around. For more information on the Soufriere market visit https://ourtropicalliving.com/volcanic-exploration/

Love by first watch!

I saw the Piton staring at me and together we both fell in love with each other. I was mesmerized by her! Her untouched pure beauty, her height, her strength as she went against all odds and how she stood alone as she reached for the sky.

I felt at peace during the long gaze and was so thankful that I could witness such beauty. This was a magical experience! I really love nature and nature loves me back!

The Beacon

When I got to my friend’s house, to my surprise, I was told that we would be going to The Beacon for lunch.

I said “The Beacon!” out of my astonishment. I immediately remembered the two occasions when I visited The Beacon to celebrate the big “I do!” I could still remember how excited my friends were to celebrate their wedding at The Beacon!

It was only about a ten minute drive from the Soufriere town to The Beacon. My friend had made reservations so our arrival was anticipated. We arrived shortly after 2 p.m.

A colorful delight
Perfect color combination

Jaw drop!

If you take note of the little things like I do then you will become happier as soon as you lay eyes on the place. The building is colourful and attractive. At least to me it is.

The Beacon sits perfectly on a hill overlooking the Soufriere town. Since The Beacon is situated on a hill, imagine what you could see and how far you could see!

I simply cannot describe the view from this angle. You need to see for yourself! If you enjoy nature and appreciate nature like I do then the view will captivate your eyes.

The view is spectacular! Perfect view of the Twin Pitons, clear view of the Soufriere town and lush evergreen vegetation.

I could see the mountains, blue sea with the sun overlooking and even steams from the Sulphur Springs. Click on link to see what the Sulphur Springs look like https://ourtropicalliving.com/volcanic-exploration/

Open air restaurant

The Beacon is an open air restaurant so the view follows you wherever you go. You could relax, enjoy lunch, the view and the cool air.

We were taken to our table and served a glass of water then allowed to get our food. It is buffet style dining so you could choose whatever you like!

This is a plus! Taking whatever you like amounts to taking as much as you like. Right?

Lunch

Where do I begin!? The menu included curry chicken, fish strips, green banana in garlic sauce, fried rice, ripe plantain and even sweet potato pie. Also served were, fresh garden salad, steamed vegetables, baked potato and fig salad.

This was my first time having fish strips seasoned with ginger. The ginger added a rich taste to the fish strips. Could you imagine that tartar sauce was served as the dip, now that is genius.

There was really a party in my mouth and tummy. I could not get enough of the fish strips, I need that recipe! The chef excelled and outshined themselves. The food had a really good aroma too.

The food was well prepared and really really really really really delicious. Like oh my gosh delicious.

I enjoyed a glass of tamarind juice after! Yep, I was filled!

Opps I took the photo after everyone ate! That explains the empty trays!

Dessert

Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup was the dessert served. The missing piece was cake but we were informed that cake is only served on Sundays!

Even the spoon is in love with the ice cream and willingly gives the ice cream its heart

Feel good moment

Since it was a week day, the package inclusive of lunch and dessert was EC $35.00. You could even go for seconds without paying extra money! Such a great deal!

Imagine going for extra food and you only pay EC $35.00 that is a big “wow!”

The package is EC $40.00 on Sundays because extra dessert is provided.

Let your eyes tell the story

Note

The Beacon is located next to a busy highway so be careful along the road.

The Beacon could cater for large events, meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding proposals and just a causal date.

You could visit the Maranatha Gardens next to the restaurant to relax, enjoy nature, watch the plants and enjoy taking even more pictures.

It would be best to call and make reservations instead of doing walk ins. The reservation would ensure that arrangements are made to receive you so you could get to sample all the food.

Walk ins would be subject to the food available at the time because The Beacon gets crowded at times.

Stunning

Thank you The Beacon

I had fun being my own model during my photoshoot and was able to take some great photos. The photos seemed like they were made for a magazine because of the perfect background.

I had a memorable experience at The Beacon. The place was well kept and the staff were really nice and friendly.

I love my country!

No need to second guess visiting

The place was not crowded during my visit!

Two groups came to celebrate a birthday and someone came in for a causal lunch date.

Protocols established by the government to safeguard the population from the coronavirus disease were followed.

Seating arrangements was well done so many persons could visit at the same time because social distancing was done.
