Losing my mom in May 2020 changed my outlook on life. I now make an active effort to remain present in every discussion instead of drifting and getting into my own world. I make myself more available for others and I appreciate others more.

How does death change your perspective? To me, it’s part of our life. I enjoy while I can. Due to immigration, my family have not lived together for decades.
my family separated ( Texas, Minnesota, New York, St.Croix, Connecticut) when my siblings and I were in our teens. We communicated weekly, but did not see each others for years. We also do not get too involved with each other life’s. Our in-laws love us. 😊 My siblings and I accept all each mates unconditionally. Plus, my oldest sister died in 2014, she was the glue to the family. She tried to keep us together.
It is true that death is a part of life. It is just so challenging to accept when it hits home. After my mom died, I started reminding myself every day that I too will die someday day, so I should make the best of my days. That is good your siblings and you maintained communication despite the distance. You seem to have a close-knit family. Keep it up. I’m sorry to hear of your sister’s passing. I have you have found strength and comfort to cope with your loss over the years.
Have seen your prior post referring to your mother . Y’all relationship seems special. Ok. I overstand (understand ) now. Take care of yourself. God protect you always.
