Dinner date

My significant other took me on a causal date night in October to celebrate my birthday. Although he did not mention where we were going I figured it out when he took a left turn towards the Vigie Marina.

We had been to Coal Pot Restaurant on multiple occasions but we make every visit seem like our first because we love to pamper our palate.

The waiter greeted us with a smile and warm welcome as we approached the restaurant. He had us choose our table and escorted us to our seat.

We decided to choose a seat near the waterfront so that we would easily see the shoal of fish as they came close by.

There were many chairs with balloons tied to the back, apparently many other people would be celebrating their birthday here too.

Our table was beautifully decorated with birthday decorations, a lantern and candle. I was really impressed!

Ready for dinner!
Dine next to the water

Coal Pot Restaurant

Coal Pot Restaurant is a waterside restaurant located in Vigie, Castries near the George F.L. Charles Airport. The location of the restaurant provides a view of the Vigie marina and the city.

The atmosphere is fresh and cool. The backdrop from the night lights of the city and the marina mixed with the ambience of the Coal Pot Restaurant is very romantic. It makes you dream the night away.

Free parking is available.

Patiently awaiting the arrival of the sea creatures

Dinner is served

The three course menu is written on a chalk board and placed near your table for easy view.

Menu
Shaken fruit punch
Drink of choice all the time

We were served crispy and buttery bread. My significant other enjoyed the bread so much that he asked for extra.

Starter

Pumpkin soup

The pumpkin soup was thick, creamy and well prepared.

Calamari creole

The shrimp cocktail was not available so I chose the calamari creole.

The calamari creole was a mixture of sea food so I enjoyed some parts but it needed extra flavouring and had too much sauce for me.

I did not enjoy the calamari creole as much as I would have liked but you could try it, you might just love it especially if you’re a sea food lover.

Main course

Ribeye steak

Ribeye steak

The meat was served with vegetables, mashed potato pie, potatoes and ripe plantain. The ribeye steak was juicy, tender, well done and flavorful.

Lamb chop

The lamb chop was soft and richly flavored to the bone. I really enjoyed it and was able to clear my plate!

Dessert

I was filled by dessert time so I had to squeeze in the ice cream and cake.

Chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream

The chocolate cake was warm and seemed like it had just been baked. It was moist and appetizing.

Guava cheesecake and vanilla ice cream

I loved the guava cheesecake so much that I allowed it to melt in my mouth. Perfection!

Visit to celebrate

Coal Pot Restaurant is spacious enough for a business lunch, birthday celebrations or for any special event. You could decide to dine in for a quiet, relaxing and romantic or causal lunch or dinner.
