Package

I visited Bay Gardens Marina Haven with my partner in December to celebrate his birthday. This was my second time visiting Bay Gardens Marina Haven but this was my first time spending the night.

We had called to make the reservation over the telephone and selected an all-inclusive package. We both love to eat so we wanted access to unlimited drinks and food.

The friendly receptionist informed us over the telephone that we were not allowed to visit the other Bay Gardens resorts due to the current coronavirus disease pandemic.

Ordinarily guests would have access to the Bay Gardens Family inclusive of Bay Gardens Inn, Bay Gardens Hotel and Bay Gardens Resort & Spa. Could you imagine that guests with an all-inclusive package have access to some of the services provided at all of the Bay Gardens Family!

What a great deal! We really missed out on that deal due to the pandemic! Guests could enjoy all the services provided at the Bay Gardens Family by simply charging services to their room.

Plus you get access to Splash Island Water Park. Book at the front desk and ask about hopping at the Bay Gardens Family!

Splash Island Water Park

Splash Island Water Park is a water sports park located on Reduit Beach. It is filled with water slides almost like an obstacle course. It is a fun experience! It reminded me of the American television show “WipeOut” the first time I tried it!

Welcome to Bay Gardens Marina Haven

Heartbeat

Bay Gardens Marina Haven is in a perfect location. It is located in the heart of the entertainment zone in Rodney Bay. Bay Gardens Marina Haven is directly opposite the Rodney Bay Marina!

Bay Gardens Marina Haven is about a 5 minute drive from the Reduit Beach and all the other popular amenities in the area. The hotel is located about 20 minutes from the City of Castries and 90 minutes from Vieux Fort.

We are here

We parked at the free parking area and headed to the hotel. We went through security as he checked our temperature and ensured we sanitized our hands.

We confirmed our reservations through the front desk and was then taken to our room by the security guard. He ensured that all the electronics were functional.

Checked in

We checked in at 4 p.m. on the Saturday and had to check out at 5 p.m. on the Sunday. Check out is usually at 11 a.m. but you could do a late checkout depending on the availability of the room. Check with the front desk!

Our room

The air conditioned room included a closet with a safe, ironing board and iron. There was a telephone, cable television, coffee marker, refrigerator, kitchen utensils and an assortment of tea.

The bathroom contained a hair dryer, towels and rags. The soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion were in a wall dispenser so you press and release to receive.

View from the room!

Our room had a balcony with a view of the pool and hotel, it was really unique. The sky, pool and the painting of the hotel seemed like one. My sight was pleased and I felt like I was in a baby blue world. The balcony had lots of cool breeze.

The room also had a garden view because it was towards the back of the hotel close to a garden.

?

As we explored the three story hotel, I realized that the only area to relax was at the poolside or in the balcony.

On first impression I wondered what we would do for fun and what activities were available. It made me feel a bit disappointed because I felt like the package was not worth the price.

We tried!

We decided to go for a swim in the pool about after 6 p.m. Who were we kidding!? The water was extremely cold so the attempt was unsuccessful. It was actually funny so we had a good laugh at ourselves.

Anchor restaurant

Anchor Restaurant is the only restaurant to dine in at Bay Gardens Marina Haven. It is small and cozy! Anchor Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We were not provided with a food menu but the waiter clearly outlined the options available. There is a bar in the restaurant so you could have a drink at the bar and watch soccer.

The way to my heart!

After eating the food, I said I saw the reason the hotel is more on the pricy side. Words cannot describe the taste, smell and presentation of the food because it was so well done.

Arrival food

Chicken burger and fries were served with fruits. The tartar sauce on the fries was perfect! The fries were crunchy and well done. We asked for a burger to take to the room because it was that good! I was impressed with the food for the first attempt.

Meal one

Dinner

The area was decorated with birthday decorations and the staff sung happy birthday. It was a really lovely gesture on their part. My partner was really excited and surprised. I felt like it was my birthday during the singing because I was excited too.

Aww decorations

Shrimp cocktail

The shrimp cocktail included fried shrimp, honey dew, cantaloupe, bell peppers and lettuce served with a sweet sauce. The shrimps were jumbo and the mixture of the vegetables and sauce was too delicious. The sweetness of the bell peppers and honey dew gave the salad an extra special taste.

Shaken fruit punch
Shrimp cocktail

BBQ chicken

The dinner menu included chicken or fish with the available sides and of course we chose barbeque chicken! The barbeque chicken had a pinch of ginger that gave it extra flavouring along with the honey barbeque sauce.

The food made me dance! The mashed potato was creamy and thick! Yum Yum Yom yom! I told the waiter to give the compliments to the chef and inform him that the presentation was A+.

BBQ chicken, rice, mashed potato and salad

Rich chocolate cake

Dessert included chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate cake was rich, chocolatey and not too sweet. It was tasty!

Banana bread was wrapped and given to us, how thoughtful. That was unexpected! The staff for the night were tremendously friendly and helpful.

Later during the night, I craved the chocolate cake. I should have asked for some to take to the room!

Breakfast

Breakfast started off with yoghurt and fruits. We then ordered croissant, pancakes, sausage, bacon, salad, eggs and chocolate cake.

I ordered my eggs filled with peppers, onions,  ham, mushrooms and cheese! I love food!

Peach yoghurt! Honey dew, cantaloupe and orange!

I asked for extra, I know! Greedy much!

Lunch

We opted for the chicken stir fry, shrimp stir fry and salad for lunch.

I had the shrimp stir fry which I really enjoyed and my partner took the chicken stir fry. The texture of the spaghetti was prepared just how I love it. It was not too soft nor too firm.

Pizza

We also ordered a pizza, chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream to seal lunch!

Blue paradise

If you are looking for a quiet, small and intimate hotel to relax then this is the spot. The poolside is heart melting.

You are barely able to differentiate the colour of the pool from the painting on the hotel and even from the sky. They really formed one uniform master piece.

Relaxing on a pool chair keeps you at ease as you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and picture perfect scenery.

Blue and more blue

Interesting fact

Bay Gardens Inn, Bay Gardens Hotel and Bay Gardens Resort & Spa are all within close range. If you want a beach bath then Bay Gardens Marina Haven is a mere 20 minute walk from the beach. Even closer if you drive!

Bay Gardens Resorts offer many options so you could have a Bay Gardens experience by choosing to stay on the Reduit Beachfront, within the Rodney Bay Village or The Rodney Bay Marina!

Take your pick.

Taking a swim

Tropical island experience

I enjoyed watching the sun set over the yachts. The view of the marina was breath taking. It gives you a tropical island experience. You see the beautiful wavy mountains, the green trees and the sea.

Rodney Bay Marina

Enjoyable

I had an enjoyable stay. I loved the unique shape of the pool. I loved that the hotel was not too crowded as it was mostly quiet. I loved the food and drinks so my palate was fully satisfied from the moment I arrived.I loved it all!

Free Wi-Fi was available throughout the hotel with no interruptions in connection.

The hotel is wheelchair friendly for persons confined to a wheelchair and there is an elevator available although it was out of use during our stay.

Room service was available until 9 p.m.

Yes you can!

Book a night stay or a day pass to chill by the pool, enjoy the food and relax!

Day pass

Alize Inn Hotel is located in Mongiraud Gros Islet which is in the northern part of the island. Alize Inn Hotel is about five minutes from the Gros Islet town and about 15 minutes from the city Castries. If you are coming from Vieux Fort then the hotel is about 90 minutes away.

My co-workers decided to visit Alize Inn Hotel for a day pass to enjoy our off day. The day pass was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for EC $135 per person. This was my first time visiting Alize Inn Hotel so I was eager to see the place.

Bus ride

My co-workers and I took a Gros Islet bus from Castries to Mongiraud to get to the Alize Inn Hotel. We got off at the nearest bus stop and began walking to the hotel.

We did not know exactly where the hotel was but we had a slight idea. There is a sign with an arrow along the way to help provide directions so you will not get lost.

We were amazed at the steep hill in front us. I thought “wow!” Climbing the steep hill was very tasking. It was about a two minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel.

Note that getting to the hotel by foot would not be ideal for persons with mobility issues.

Checked in

There is a flight of stairs leading to the reception area. More stairs we exclaimed! There is no elevator so this could pose a further problem for persons with mobility issues.

We went through reception and got a tour of the place. Due to the amount of persons in the group for the day pass we were given two rooms.

Rooms are provided for a day pass depending on room availability at the time.

Double bedded room
Single bedded room with private balcony

Room

The clean air conditioned room was well organized. There was a television, closet, safe, iron, ironing board and refrigerator.

The bathroom contained a tub, shower, toilet, face basin and a hair dryer.

There was also a private balcony to enjoy the magnificent view.

View from the balcony

Serve yourself

If you want to prepare a specialty then you could be your own chef and use the kitchenette. The common kitchen area is equipped with a microwave, stove top, sink and toaster over.

Exceptional

Maintenance was being done on the outside so the hotel was a bit noisy at first but it was exceptionally peaceful thereafter especially since the hotel was not crowded.

The hotel is small so there is not much to do other than eat, relax and enjoy the pool. That is exactly what we were seeking on that day.

You could also surf the internet and enjoy the free Wi-Fi available.

The grounds were well kept and the building looked newly painted.

Food time!

Menu

Delicious treats

The day pass included breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, unlimited juice and soft drinks. Four alcoholic cocktail drinks per adult was also included in the package.

Four cards were given to each person to get their drink of choice.

Fruit bowl

Breakfast

Breakfast commenced with a fruit bowl which included five fingers, cantaloupe, pineapple, honey dew and grapes.

We were then served pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, ham and toasted sliced bread. The eggs were well made, the bacon was crispy, sausage juicy and pancakes moist.

Everything tasted yummy yum yum! We were super filled and satisfied with the way breakfast was prepared.

Toasted garlic bread
Accra

Lunch

We were given two options to indulge in before lunch, garlic bread or accra. I chose the garlic bread and oh boy was it delicious.

Lunch itself was so enjoyable. We were served seasoned rice, macaroni and cheese, potato pie, plantain sticks and salad with the meat of choice. I chose the jerk pork and it was mouth-watering!

Dessert

Snacks

Red velvet cake and ice cream were the snacks of the evening!

Our drinks

Secrets in a glass!
Amaretto sour

Amaretto sour

The amaretto sour was sweet at first but as it settled and the mixture blended in it tasted sweet and sour. It was a job well done and it tasted well.

Piña colada

Piña colada

This sweet cocktail made me fall in love with the tropics all over again as I remembered the days when I sipped it whilst at the beach. The piña colada brought back fond memories.

Tequila

Tequila shot

We placed the salt on the back of our hand, drank the tequila then bit into the lime and sucked it. I said “ahhhhhhh” after the shot. The tequila shot made my mouth hot hot hot!

Fireball

Fireball

The fireball really did taste like a fireball, it was a candy in a glass! It reminded me of my childhood days when I sucked on the fireball candy.

Highlights

If you do not get a room and want to freshen up, it is okay! You could use the shower near the poor and use the washroom near the pool to change.

Alize Inn Hotel is located close to the S&S Plaza for your shopping needs and close to most of the “hot spots” in the northern part of the island.

You could visit Rodney Bay and go to the JQ Shopping Mall or Baywalk Shopping Mall to shop or simply window shop. Need a sea bath? Even better you could visit the Reduit beach.

The hotel is quiet and spacious enough to host meetings, special events, birthday parties and even wedding celebrations.

Feel free to call or email for bookings. Google Alize Inn Hotel for more information or visit their Facebook page.

Outdoor shower

Outdoor pool

Want to go for a swim? After you rinse yourself, you could go to the pool to enjoy the water. The pool is only four feet deep so no need to panic if you are unable to swim or float.

The pool side is filled with umbrellas, lounge chairs and coconut trees. You could relax, read a book, soak in the sun for a tan or enjoy nature and its surroundings.

I need a repeat!

Alize Inn Hotel is a family friendly beautiful establishment with a view overlooking the buildings nearby and some green nature isle.

The waiters were friendly and delivered our every request. Routine check-ups were done to ensure that we were okay

We did have many request from wanting more bread, wanting lots more juice and even water.

It was a good place to relax at the pool and enjoy a few non-alcoholic drinks for the day. Although I live in paradise, I felt like I was in paradise.

Perfect weather, perfect company and it felt like I had been in another country.

This was a good experience with good service, good food and drinks and an overall great atmosphere. I will visit again!

Bel Jou Hotel

First time visit

This was my first time at the Bel Jou Hotel and I was amazed. I had never heard of the Bel Jou Hotel until I saw a friend’s display picture and inquired on her whereabouts two months before my visit. She explained that the hotel had offered good food, friendly staff and was affordable so of course I had to explore given that my partner’s birthday was around the corner.

I love hotel stays- no cooking, no cleaning but waking up well relaxed and to all meals ready to enjoy. This helps retain all your energy for activities you would want to engage in.

I was highly excited to enter through the gates of the Bel Jou Hotel since I did not know what to expect given that it was my first time visiting. I was warmly greeted at the front desk by Danielle who made the check in process easy and fun with her radiant smile and sweet personality.

The pond next to the front desk got my attention as the colourful fish swam across their habitat. I sipped on my fruit punch whilst at the lounge where we checked in and marvelled at the details and finishing in the room.

As Danielle accompanied us to our room I was struck by the view of the Vigie beach. The view was magnificent and the sea and sky looked like one as their uniform colour marinated and matched perfectly together.

I love the view!

No buggies or air lifts are available but the walk is bearable since the hotel is not very big. You will most certainly see the common island features of the tropical hillside at this hotel. Lush vegetation, blue sky and cool environment.

Free private parking is available if you come with your personal vehicle. Check in time is at 3 p.m. on the arrival day and check out at 12 p.m. on the final day of your stay. No need to rush since you can remain on compound till 6 p.m. after check out. The hotel rates vary depending on the season visited so look out for seasonal rates. No pets are allowed at the hotel but the birds seem like pets since they are friendly and come within close proximity.

Want to go to the beach, no problem! The hotel is not located next to the beach but there is a shuttle service with times of pickup and drop-off to the city and the Vigie beach. Room 107

I realized that the room we would stay in offered a garden view and was located near a pool. As I stepped from the patio and into the room boy was I impressed. The wooden ceiling fan immediately captivated my attention with its’ unique look.

A chilled campaign and a birthday note awaited compliments of the hotel. The air conditioned room included a telephone, clock, television with cable, electric kettle, sugar, tea and coffee.

An iron, ironing board, safe, bathrobes, hairdryer and toiletries mainly soap, shampoo and body wash were also available. I loved the ensuite bathroom with the sink and toilet adjacent. The room did not have a refrigerator but one could have been requested for use. We had two single beds connected to form a single large bed. I loved that the room had two closets and three mirrors.

The extra lighting on the headboard seemed like antennas that came in handy at nights. They seemed like they were night lights since they provided just enough lighting so I would not disturb my partner.

Pools

There are two pools at the Bel Jou Hotel and you can join in on the aqua aerobics. The pools are open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The upper level pool is close to the restaurants and is lined with pool chairs and parasols.

The lower side pool is quieter and is located more towards the base of the hotel next to the garden. There is a self-serve bar open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., cool sitting chairs that you can rock in and merely enjoy the scenery. Read a book whilst underneath the parasol or sleep all day long on the comfy sun bed.

The outdoor setting at Lulu’s Cabana Restaurant & Bar is peaceful. Of course the birds will be around waiting for a share of your delicious meal. No reservation is needed so grab a seat and grab a bite!

Enjoyment

My friends will tell you that I am usually hungry since I eat small frequent meals. The food at the Bel Jou Hotel was exceptional and I enjoyed the various food choices. Cyprian kept our drinks coming and knew what drinks we loved!

The property was clean, well maintained and the groundsmen did an amazing job with the landscape.

The housekeeper was extremely friendly and happily assisted us with getting some extra towels.

Whilst I did not dine at the Rooftop Restaurant & Bar I enjoyed the view and got to see the city at a different angle with the assistance from the binocular. I got to see a few planes take off at the nearby airport.

I really enjoyed watching the guest and staff dance and sing on the dancefloor at the Verandah Restaurant during the fun night activities.

I loved the layout of room 107 since the shower and bathroom were separate. The indoor chairs provided extra cushion and helped me sleep peacefully during the day when my partner went to the gym. I also enjoyed relaxing and sitting in the patio to watch the birds on the palm tree.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the manager Dean asked us how we were doing and even volunteered to be our camera man.

I enjoyed getting my own drink at the self-serve bar next to the pool on the lower level of the hotel and especially enjoyed the snow cone.

My stay at the Bel Jou Hotel is unforgettable

If you want time to relax, get to know your partner further, meditate, find yourself then this is the place for you. The Bel Jou Hotel is very intimate, extremely quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed watching the trees sway with the cool breeze, the birds in their natural habitat and the landscape of the hotel.

Feeling tense, then have a spa day at the hotel. You can eat anytime of the day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. unless you order additional meals for a fee. Gaze at the clear blue Caribbean Sea and take photographs of the city and surrounding regions in its’ entirety.

My three day stay at the Bel Jou hotel was marvellous.

Feel like something is missing?

You can book a variety of tours at the tour desk from hiking, ziplining, sailing from Castries to Soufriere to taking a trip to Martinique.

Ever been to the Bel Jou Hotel? How was your stay?

I hope this blog post raises awareness of the beauty of a stay at the Bel Jou Hotel and helps locals see the cost effectiveness of an all-inclusive staycation.

All Inclusive Secret Luxury

A luxurious two day stay at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay Saint Lucia

Deciding to go to St. James’s Club Morgan Bay Saint Lucia for yearly staycations for the past seven years has been an easy decision since it is affordable, all-inclusive and offers both beach and pool access. My last stay at the St. James’s Club Morgan Bay although was a surprise, was for pleasure, relaxation and a romantic getaway weekend since it was October- my birth month. Passing through security at the entrance of the hotel always seem like the first time. I get excited because it means “no more outside world but being in my home away from home.” I immediately shut-off the outside world, close my eyes, do my excited dance and embrace the scenery.

St. James’s Club Morgan Bay Saint Lucia

The St. James’s Club Morgan Bay privately sits on 25 acres of land and has 325 guestrooms. Wi-Fi is available for free in the lobby and Sunset Lounge which is the main entertainment area and for a fee in some rooms.

Feel free to go from pool to pool. The hotel has four pools catering for both adults and kids. Though I am not a strong swimmer, I had fun floating and swimming to the “swim up bar” to have a Virgin Pina Colada as I sat on a stool in the pool.

Come enjoy eating, drinking and relaxing at the hotel’s multiple bars, lounges and restaurants. If you prefer remaining in your room all day long then order room service from midday to 9:00 p.m. for an added fee.

Do not worry about the kids and wondering whether you will have any free time for yourself. The hotel offers supervised activities for the kids and day care service is also available for a fee.

The hotel provides various free beach water activities including water-skiing, banana-boat rides, windsurfing and paddle boarding. Lessons for the various activities are also provided.

Perfect location

St. James’s Club Morgan Bay is located in Choc along the Choc Bay, Castries which is in the northern part of Saint Lucia. The view is magnificent! The rooms could either have a garden view, ocean view and of course a view overlooking everything, garden, pool and ocean. I especially loved watching the neighbouring island Martinique, it felt like the two islands were connected since the view was clear.

The hotel is located about one hour from the Hewanorra International Airport so the drive from the airport to the hotel provides an added view of the picturesque tropical island. If coming in from the George F.L Charles Airport (Vigie Airport) in Castries then arrival to the hotel will be about 10 minutes. Visit https://ourtropicalliving.com/what-is-758-st-luciasweet-saint-lucia/ for more information on the airports in Saint Lucia.

Although the hotel has everything you need to enjoy your stay, it is stationed about a 5 minute drive from Massy Stores Mega- a bulk grocery supermarket. KFC, Caribbean Cinema, Domino’s Pizza, Rituals Coffee Shop and other businesses are also located in that area.

Arrival

Want to overnight at the hotel? Check in is at 3:00 p.m. and check out is at 12:00 p.m. on the final day of your stay. Go to the hotel for a day pass and check in at 10:00 a.m. and check out at 6:00 p.m. that same day. Hotel rates change depending on the season visited so look out for great deals.

If you’re coming in by bus then enjoy the walk to the front desk, coming in by car enjoy the free parking or if you’re coming in via taxi enjoy the ride in. Either way you come in, be on the lookout for the lovely waterfall before the reception area.

Welcome to my heaven on earth!

It really amazed me at how peaceful the entrance to the hotel is although it is within close proximity to a busy highway.

The excitement of walking in to a warm greeting staff politely handing you a rolled cold minty towel to use as a face wipe and hand sanitizer is refreshing for the tropical weather. The reception area is large with various sitting options and I felt welcomed with the smiles and greetings from staff.

I sipped on a shaken fruit punch as my partner checked us in and booked the restaurant we would dine in for dinner that night. All activities can be booked at the Tour Desk from shopping in the city, touring the island, having a wedding or visiting the neighbouring island Martinique. Souvenirs are available at the different boutiques at the hotel. Be sure to check it out so you can share a piece of your vacation with family and friends.

Instant attraction

I felt like royalty as I got off the buggy that took me to my sanctuary. Walking into an air conditioned room with a fruity scent and good ambiance is so soothing. My jaw dropped and I uttered “aww” when I saw the chocolate coated pineapple stripes and a chocolate cake with a birthday card compliments of the hotel. The chocolate cake was soft, not too sweet and was very tasty. I was so eager to eat the pineapple chocolate mixture that my mouth watered.

I was taken aback by the various paintings on the wall: paintings of flowers, the beach, coral and the pitons reminded me of the reasons I came to the hotel in the first place, to relax. I was pleased that the room was close to the beach and main restaurant because some rooms are far but buggies are readily available to take you around.

I unpacked my hotel wear, placed my personal items in the safe and was ready to explore the hotel.

Compliments

The hotel is huge and has various sections. No need to worry though, there is orientation for new visitors. A guide book is also provided in the room with welcome remarks, resort map and in room dining menu. The various restaurants with dinner reservations guide and tranquility spa menu of services with types of spa treatment are also included. No need to get bored in your room after heading in for the night, watch television or sit in your patio and enjoy the view.

Paradise

Looking around the hotel is always breath taking. Looks just like a picture out of a magazine and no edits are needed for picture taking. During the day, I enjoyed watching the blue sea and sky. The lights from the city seemed like thousands of stars by night fall.

“Sand Pit” is right on the beach and serves as a mini bar. No need to leave your beach chair, red flags are available which when raised signals to the waiter that you want a drink. If you do not want to get a red flag then simply take a few steps to Sand Pit and order a drink.

I tried the lemon water to quench my thirst and it was so refreshing. Cold water with an added flavour! I found a perfect spot on the beach and laid on the beach chair for hours. How can I forget, an ice cream cart is also available on the beach, I had two ice cream cones to help keep me cool.

Although a packed program of activities for both land and sea was placed in the room, I did not want to participate in any of the beach, pool or gym activities. The time spent at the hotel was merely to rest and enjoy the perfect weather.

No need to worry

The room is spacious and comes with everything you need and is fully furnished. It is air-conditioned, has a closet with a safe, iron and ironing board and is sizeable to house your luggage. A telephone, refrigerator, tea and coffee maker, flat screen television and an electric clock is also free to be utilized.

The bathroom is spacious with a comfortable toilet, tub, shower and face basin that can be used at the same time by two individuals. As I gazed at the paintings in the bathroom I got lost in my happy thoughts. The bathroom also has a hair dryer, complimentary soap, bath wash and shower gel. A private patio is available in all rooms so enjoy the fresh air and spectacular view of the hotel.

Food

Plum Tree Bar & Grill

The Plum Tree Bar & Grill is located next to the family pool and is in close proximity to the gym and tennis court. Get a seat, wait for the menu from the waiter then order a drink and something delicious. This restaurant is kid-friendly so children can enjoy the waterslides in the pool.

I call Plum Tree Bar & Grill the “Fast food restaurant” since it commonly serves such foods as burgers, paninis, hotdogs and fries. Cookies, cakes and an assortment of ice cream are also available. For those who do not fancy fast food no need to worry, salads, wraps and other healthy options are also available.

The food at Plum Tree Bar & Grill was appetizing and the staff were friendly. Get everything you need without leaving the poolside at the Plum Tree Bar & Grill. Have a small bite near the pool and look over your shoulder to view the garden.

Enjoying the spiciness of the panini at “Plum Tree Bar & Grill.” Shaken fruit punch with a spicy mayo, jerk chicken, sweet chili sauce and cheddar panini with French fries

Palms Restaurant

The Palms Restaurant is my favorite for all meals since it is buffet style and opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves a different theme daily for lunch and dinner. I enjoyed listening to the birds chirp and watching the cats tour around, it made me feel at home. The Palms Restaurant serves different cuisines so you get to eat different food varieties.

Noo, this is not dessert! This is my choice of breakfast at “Palms Restaurant” almost done eating the banana tempura, pork sausage, omelette with pepper, onions and bacon, rock cake and float with jam on top

BBQ Hut

The BBQ Hut is located on the beach next to Morgan’s Pier so you can dine on the beach. Enjoy the burgers, grilled chicken and salad. I especially loved digging my toes in the gold sand on the beach as I ate and watched the speed boats on the water.

Morgan’s Pier

Ready for a romantic dinner over the water at Morgan’s Pier

If you want to have an intimate and quiet dinner over the sea filled with finger touches, then have dinner at Morgan’s Pier! Make your reservation, give your room number on entry at the restaurant and get escorted to your seat. Watch the menu to decide on the three course meal, listen to what your taste buds crave, order and enjoy the delicious food and view. Watch and listen to the waves as they hit the rocks, watch the sailboats on the water and enjoy the lights from the city of Castries shine as bright as stars. I loved the waterfront dining over the sea at Morgan’s Pier.

Morgan’s Pier has the most delicious thyme seasoned, crispy fried calamari, with paprika, corn flour dust, cayenne pepper and aioli

I eat frequent small meals so I was satisfactorily stuffed when it came time for dessert. Dinner at Morgan’s Pier was beyond expectations, the food was spectacular and the service was awesome. The waiters were friendly and gave intermittent check-ups to ensure that dinner was going as desired.

Choc Bay Café

For the sweet tooth candy lovers, there is something for your too! Choc Bay Café serves treats and tea from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Indulge in expresso, tea, sandwich, cakes, everything nice and sweet! I loved the chocolate fudge with sprinkles on top, they were my favorite!

Yes…more restaurants for you to enjoy

I enjoyed Tree Tops Pizza & Pasta since it overlooks the resort. Come enjoy the salad, pastry, freshly made oven-fired pizza and of course yummy desserts.

The Bambou is a beachfront restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and a la cart dinner menu.

Dress elegantly and have a romantic dinner at Le Jardin. This restaurant offers a more quiet dinner in an air-conditioned room but for an additional fee.

Stay

Watching the ocean from the room and listening to the waves crashing in on the shore and rocks was magical.

Waking up felt like I had slept for days, I felt well rested. The bed was extremely soft, comfortable and huge. I was able to stretch fully and roll around.

Being at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay was a stress reliever and helped me forget about my day-to-day life whilst I enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff made me feel at home, the environment helped keep me at peace and affirmed my romance.

Overall, my stay at the St James’s Club Morgan Bay was outstanding and I recommend the hotel. I had a wonderful experience and the food was tasty. The staff were friendly, provided warm greetings every time they saw me, always offered assistance and were enthusiastic about my stay.

The environment was quiet, relaxing and fun. I am pleased that I saw security guards patrolling areas of the resort and was amazed with seeing maintenance clean the beach at the crack of dawn.

Umm...

I wish that the Palm Restaurant was opened for lunch on the last day of my stay but since it was not available I went to the BBQ Hut for lunch where I ate barbeque chicken and salad. I would have preferred what most Saint Lucians call “a meal” which includes rice, peas, a cheese pie, salad and ground provisions.

All pet lovers, be aware that no pets are allowed at the hotel. For the all-night party goers please note that live performances and entertainment at the resort ends at 11 p.m. However, the resort is about 15 minutes from Rodney Bay so you can still enjoy live entertainment and late night clubbing.
